Event

Format

The event will be conducted under the Australian modified version of the PWA Rulebook for Wave Sailing and will be available for download here 2 weeks prior to the event.

The available conditions during the competition dates will determine whether a single, dingle or double elimination process will be exercised.

The competition has a maximum of 70 competitors across all divisions. This will initially be split with a provision for 10 junior division competitors (under 18), 10 women’s division competitors, 10 master’s division competitors and 40 open division competitors. The total number of 70 competitors is part of the Augusta and Margaret River Shire approvals therefore pre-event registration and allocation of placements are essential (available after the 20th December 2009). The competition is initially only open to Australian Citizens however the competition organizers reserve the right to include an international division and will advise of this closer to the competition date. This division will not be part of the main Australian Titles heat structure.

Schedule

The initial competition briefing will commence at 10am on Wednesday 3rd February at the Margaret River Main Break – Surfers Point.

Conditions will determine the actual competition commencement time however competitors should be prepared for the first heats to be in the water by 11am.
